Brunswick town was a major port in colonial America. Unfortunately, it was burnt down during the Revolutionary war. The site was later revisited during the Civil war, when the Confederate troops built Fort Anderson on top of the original town. Now you can see both the ruins of the town, and the structure of the more recent fort. Be sure to drop by the visitor's center in order to learn more about the decline of colonial towns, as well as more about America both during colonial times and during the civil war.
